🏆 Player of the Game: Francisco Lindor — He was a catalyst at the top of a Mets lineup that produced 15 hits and 11 runs.

The Mets pounded out 15 hits and scored in six different innings Saturday, rolling past the Pirates 11-1 in a game that was effectively decided before the midway point.

New York set the tone immediately, plating two runs in the first and adding three more in the third. The fourth inning was the knockout blow, a four-run outburst that pushed the lead to 9-0 and sent Pittsburgh's bullpen scrambling. Another run in the fifth and one more in the seventh rounded out the scoring. The Mets finished with two home runs, seven walks and 11 RBIs, batting .375 as a team while never letting the Pirates' staff settle in. Pittsburgh pitching was charged with all 11 runs as earned.

On the mound, New York was every bit as dominant. Mets pitching allowed just four hits and issued no walks while piling up 13 strikeouts, surrendering only a solo home run in the third inning for Pittsburgh's lone run. The Pirates managed a .129 team average and never put together a serious threat, striking out 13 times and committing the game's only error.

It was a complete performance on both sides of the ball for New York, which controlled the game from the opening frame.
